The Heritage Marksmanship Team (Heritage Hawkeyes) exists to honor God through discipline, teamwork, and competition.  The team competes on 10-meter ranges in three different positions using air rifles designed specifically for target shooting. The sport of marksmanship cultivates essential skills such as fine motor control coordination, self-discipline, and mental discipline. These athletes must adhere to strict safety regulations, ensuring a secure environment for themselves and others. Through their dedication, they not only enhance their shooting abilities but also foster a strong sense of responsibility and focus.

 

Our competitions are against other high schools, clubs and JROTC teams. Our Leagues include a virtual National League, the Illinois Precision Rifle League, the American Legion, USA Shooting and Civilian Marksmanship Program sanctioned matches. Marksmanship is a sport where gender, size and speed do not determine success.

Our dedication and skills have consistently earned us qualifications for the Civilian Marksmanship Program, as well as Regional and National Championships​​
